How does whole body Cryosauna work?
The drastic drop in temperature inside a cryosauna stimulates your body’s temperature receptors, causing your body to react to the cold and compensate with blood flow. Upon exiting the treatment cabin, a short burst of exercises helps to enhance the flow of oxygen in your body (also resulting in the expulsion of toxins). This extreme cold triggers the nervous system to release endorphins that not only contribute to a good mood, but also anti-inflammatory properties that reduce pain and swelling.
Is whole body cryosauna dangerous?
No. Spa Cloud features the world’s most advanced cryosauna, which is 100% safe. Liquid nitrogen is used to cool the cabin, but does not come in contact with your skin. As a safety precaution, our CryoCabin features an oxygen monitor the treatment is guided by a specially trained technician to guide you along the way. Though this treatment is safe for almost everyone, it is not recommended for pregnant women.
Is there anyone who shouldn’t use it?
This treatment is not recommended for pregnant women; those who have severe, unmanaged hypertension (BP> 180/100); have a cardiac pacemaker; are being treated for cancer; suffer from deep vein thrombosis, acute or recent myocardial infarction, uncontrolled seizures, fever, unstable angina pectoris, Raynaud’s syndrome, cold allergy, acute kidney and urinary tract diseases, open wounds or ulcers, or if under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Is it comfortable?
It’s comfortable and invigorating! Though this treatment is short (between one-three minutes), the cold air is dry and soothing. There is a stimulating, recharging feeling from your body reacting to the blast of cold.
How long does it take?
Whole body cryosauna treatments are approximately one-three minutes in duration. After exiting the Crysauna, your Spa Cloud technician will guide you through a short burst of light cardiovascular exercises to warm up your muscles.
I’m claustrophobic. Can I still use the cryosauna?
Yes. The cryosauna is open at the top and customized to the height of the client without full enclosing you. If you are uncertain or nervous, the technician will remind you that the door is not locked and can be easily accessed.
What do I wear in the Cryosauna?
With the extreme cold, all jewelry must be removed prior to the treatment. Hand and foot protection is made of cotton or wool, and men are required to wear cotton underwear or a bathing suit to protect sensitive regions. All other clothing is removed.
Do I need to take a shower before or after using the Cryosauna?
No. Unlike a steam room, this treatment is completely dry.
How soon can I expect to see results?
The benefits of whole body cryosauna are pretty instantaneous. You’ll feel revived and energetic from the release of endorphins. You may also feel immediate relief from joint or muscle pain, and potentially increased flexibility. The cosmetic effects of changes in skin texture (such as the reduction of cellulite or weight loss) will take longer as they require a series of treatments to stimulate change.Depending on what you want to get out of whole body cryosauna, you may enjoy more sporadic bursts, or you may enjoy the on-going therapeutic benefits. Typically a minimum of 10 sessions during a two-three week period helps to maximize results. To compare, professional athletes often have up to two sessions a day to help them attain peak performance. You can book treatments according to your personal goals.
Can I catch cold from a whole body Cryosauna treatment?
No. The effects are actually the opposite as this treatment helps to stimulate the immune system (and can reduce the severity and frequency of colds and flu).
